Part A-
1. Discuss the themes and images that your book contains.
What are some of the images that are used? The notebook that Noah is reading to Ali, the house that he fixed up, and Noah's fathers chair that he used to sit in every day before his death.
What do they seem to represent? The notebook represents Noah and Ali's entire relationship. The house represents how Noah made the time pass and tried to fill the void that Ali left. Noah's father's chair and that Noah sits in it every night and day represents the impact that Noah's father made on his life.
Why do you think the author uses these images to convey his or her meaning? The author is trying to use every day objects that hold a much larger meaning and convey feelings and emotions through the items.
Part B: Quotations: 1. "A person can get used to anything, if given enough time." -Noah 2. "Poetry wasn't written to be analyzed; it was meant to inspire without reason, to touch without understanding." -Allie 3. "Follow your heart." -Anne 4. "You can't live you life for other people. You've got to do what's write for you even if it hurts some people you love." -Noah 5. "For at that moment, the world is full of wonder..." -Noah
Part C- Questions: 1. Why do you think it was so important for Noah to visit Allie on the final evening? 2. What needs/concerns of Allie does Lon fulfill? 3. Why do you think Noah doesn't ask Allie, a second time, to stay with him? 4. As the novel continues, do you think Alie and Lon's relationship gets stronger or weaker? Why or why not? 5. From reading about the love Noah and Allie share, do you think teenagers are to young to fall in love? Why or why not?
Part D- Summary: Today's meet went very well, we stayed on task and completed what needed to be done. I could see that are group can almost predict the outcome of the book. Hopefully, next week we will have food and have more to talk about! I hope next weeks discussion will be as good as this weeks, see you then.
Week 3:
Person A- Lauren Person B/C- Jackie Person D- Meghan
Part A- Assignment:
In the notebook Noah and Allie are now falling in love with each other, they go out late and get caught because the police are looking for them. Allies parents do not like Noah because they say he is a poor man. We now know this is a story told from Noah now older and in a senior citizen home trying to tell his wife Allie the memories of there life. Allie is sick with a disease and can't remember that she is Noah's wife.
Part B: Quotations:
1. "She surprised him by kissing him gently on the cheek, her free hand lingering at his waist after she pulled back."
2. "This was a worker's world, not a poet's, and so people would have a hard time understanding Noah."
3. "She realized that something had changed since she'd come here."
4. "And although she couldn't pinpoint the exact time- yesterday after dinner, or this afternoon in the canoe, or when they saw the swans, or maybe even now as they walked holding hands- she knew that she had fallen in love with Noah Taylor Calhoun again, and that maybe, just maybe, she had never stopped."
5. "But in ever boy I ever met in the nest few years, I found myself looking for you, and when the feelings got too strong, I'd write you another letter."
Part C Questions:
1. Do you think Allie feels any remorse about cheating on Lon?
2. How do you think Allie's parents would/will feel about their relationship?
3. How do you think Noah feels about her blowing off her fiance for him?
4. Do you think Allie plans on returning to her fiance any time soon?
5. What are some possible problems that could come up and end Allie and Noah's relationship?
Part D Summary:
Our group’s discussion today, was a bit better than last week, but not by far. We were involved and we participated well, but once again, we got a bit lost and at times, were off topic. At times, we would be on topic, as where as other times, we were off topic. Although we got our work done, we also talked a lot, and it wasn’t always about the book. I hope to see our group, stay on topic one-hundred, at least until we are finished with our work. Our group has progressed a little more each week, and we continue to get our work done. We also successfully discussed the pages that were previously read, and go over things that aren’t understood.
Week Two

Part A Assignment:
1. On your group's wiki page, discuss the type of language that your book contains. Is it easy to read? Conversational? "Classic"? Does it use a lot of words you don't understand? What grade level do you think the book is written at, and why? (A)
It is easy to read, and it is Classic
I already know most words, or they are simply self-explanatory based on the contents of the rest of the sentence.
I think the book is aimed at teens and adults around the ages of 15-25.
Part B Quotations: 1.) “When the teapot whistled, he poured two cups and handed one to her” 2.) “He had called at seven, then at eight-thirty, and now he checked his watch again.” 3.) “For the most part he’d been able to explore New Jersey’s country side on foot whenever he’d had extra time, but in fourteen years he hadn’t canoed or kayaked once.” 4.) “She surprised a feeling of sadness about that, hoping one day he would change.” 5.) “On one wall though, there were a few paintings that more suited her tastes.”
Part C- Opened ended: 1.) Why do you think Allie came to see Noah? 2.) Do you think Allie likes Noah, if so list 3 reasons why. 3.) What kind of picture do you think Allie is going to draw? 4.) What kind of personality do you think Lon has? (Back your answer up with details.) 5.) Do you think Noah will become closer to Allie as the book goes on if so explain.
Part D- Summary: During week two, meeting with our group was quite successful. Everyone took part in the discussion, whether it was answering, or asking questions, or sharing quotations. Although our group participated well, we were a little off topic. During the discussion, we would get a bit distracted, and not focus on what we were supposed to be doing. Towards, the end of the discussion, focusing on what we were supposed to be doing was our main priority; therefore we did what needed to get done. Our discussion went well, and I look forward to staying more on topic during week three of our discussion.

Part A- Assignment:
The main characters in "The Notebook," are Allie, and Noah. Noah is secretly in love with Allie and as the story goes on, Noah's love gets stronger for his friend, Allie. These characters are interesting because, many teens in high school can relate to their 'love story.' I am drawn to them, because I myself can relate to them. So far, there are only two main characters, and I can relate and like both of them.
Part B- Quotations: 1. “Who am I? And how, I wonder, will this story end? 2. “There is a sickness rolling through my body; I’m neither strong nor healthy, and my days are spent like an old party balloon: listless, spongy, and growing softer overtime.” 3. “By habit, he looked upward and saw Orion and the Big Dipper, Gemini and the Pole Star, twinkling in the autumn sky.” 4. “It was Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman, and he had carried it with him throughout the war.” 5. “It had even taken a bullet for him once.”
Part C- Open-Ended Questions:
1. Lon is Allie's fiance, he is described as a confident business man. Give some of the differences between Lon and Noah.
2. Why do you think Allie's parents didn't like her relationship with Noah when she was 15?
3. Why do Allie's parents approve of Lon over Noah?
